REQUIREMENT OF TOEFL OR IELTS 
All the applicants who have been approved for deferment of enrollment please ensures that you must have TOEFL or IELTS results before register for the Second Semester 2008/2009. This is due to the requirement of applicants as follow:

All International applicants from countries where English is not a medium of instruction must have obtained a minimum score of 550 for TOEFL or 6 for IELTS. This requirement is not applicable to applicant applying for admission into the Malay Languages Studies. |
| B. |
Provisional admission may be granted to an applicant who obtained a score of 500 – 549 for TOEFL or Band 5 – 5.5 for IELTS or its equivalent, who upon registration is required to enroll and pass the Tertiary English Programme conducted by the University. An applicant with a TOEFL score lower than 500 or IELTS lower than Band 5 shall not be considered for admission. An Applicant with a degree from any Malaysian public university who has fulfilled the English requirement for that degree shall be exempted from such a requirement. |

TO ALL GRADUATE STUDENTS
Kindly be informed of the following:
i. All new graduate students who have not received their matric card may collect it at the School of Graduate Studies Office during office hours (8.00 am – 5.00 pm).
ii. The last day to drop courses or to change the course status from Audit to Compulsory and vice-versa is on the August 24th, 2008.
iii. Defer of the semester (by a registered student) should be made not later than the seventh week ( August 24th, 2008) after the commencement of the semester.
iv. Students who have failed to register or pay all fees by July 20th, 2008 have been dropped. A reinstatement fee amounting to RM600 will be imposed if the appeal is approved.
v. A student whose current status is dropped (please check your portal) must provide evidence of having paid (in full or partially) his/her semester fee in order to reactivate his/her status.

REQUIREMENT OF SUBMISSION OF PARTICULARS FOR GRADUATION FORM (GS-17)
All students whose study status is 'Completed' must submit the Particulars for Graduation form (GS-17) . In addition, those who are under study programmes with thesis are also required to submit five (5) hardbound theses, a CD of the thesis and two (2) passport-sized copies of their photographs.
Please be informed that the letter of the Award of Degree and the Academic Transcript shall be given or posted only to those who have fulfilled the above requirements and have been certified as not owing any monies due the University.Thank you.

Dear All Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF) Recipients
Please be informed that all GRF recipients are required to assist in teaching/ tutoring / supervising final year students and/or laboratory classes for a duration of 4 hours/week (for Masters) or 6 hours/week (for PhD) including during semester break. Therefore, as GRF recipients, you are required to submit information regarding the type(s) of assignment that you have been given for the First Semester 2008/2009. Kindly complete the attached form and submit to the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) not later than 10 July 2008. Failure to do so will result in non-payment of your stipend.
